English you can use — in an exam, at work, in front of a guest
Structured English language training and exam preparation, taught by qualified English tutors (M.Phil level). Take it on its own, or alongside a qualification — every enrolled student gets a supported English course at a concessional rate.
The English certificate records completion of a course — it is not a regulated qualification and carries no Level.
The accredited qualificationsWhy it’s here
A qualification is only as useful as your ability to explain it
Most of our students are working towards a UK-recognised qualification. The thing that decides how far it takes them is often not the certificate — it is whether they can sit in an interview, write a report, or brief a room in confident English.
So English runs alongside everything else we do. It is taught to a set curriculum, marked against a published standard, with assessment that tells you where you actually stand — not a class you drift through.
Who teaches it
Taught to a set standard
English is taught by qualified English tutors (M.Phil level), supported by an IELTS trainer for exam cohorts. Tutors are assigned to each cycle and follow a set curriculum, so your work is marked against the same published standard whoever teaches it.
Open to everyone — you do not have to be enrolled on a qualification to take an English course with us.
The courses
Four tracks, one standard
Course lengths and fees depend on your starting level and your target, so we set them with you after a short placement conversation.

How it’s assessed
Marked against a standard, not a vibe
Work is set, submitted, and marked on a schedule. Exam cohorts sit band-scored assignments and timed mock tests under exam conditions, so the number you see in practice is the number you can expect on the day.
You finish with a clear picture of your level across speaking, writing, reading, and listening — and a certificate of completion from the academy.
The certificate
Separate from the qualifications
An English course ends with a certificate of completion issued by ThinkForward. It is deliberately kept apart from the Level 3–7 qualifications:
- no awarding-body mark and no Level number
- it states plainly that it is not a regulated qualification
- for IELTS and PTE, your official score comes from the test provider, not from us
New
You already know English. You've just never been forced to use it.
Most hospitality and management students finish their qualification able to read and write English perfectly well — and then freeze in a guest interaction or a job interview. That is not a knowledge gap. It is a confidence gap, and it needs a different kind of practice: short, repeated, spoken scenarios, not another grammar class.
The Speaking Confidence Programme is exactly that — built around the situations that actually come up: bookings, complaints, explaining a dish, a payment query, the questions an interviewer asks.
How it works
Free to start, small-group to go further
- A free 21-day speaking programme — one short spoken task a day, individual feedback on five of the days, plus a weekly live session
- A short, small-group paid cohort for anyone who wants to go further — PKR 6,000, five 2-hour sessions, placed into Foundation or Fluency after payment
- The cohort runs a handful of repeating formats so you always know what to expect: Guest Says / You Say, Handle It, Interview Line, Word Up
Kept separate from the accredited qualifications, the same way our other English courses are. An optional paid assessment returns a band — Developing, Competent, Confident or Fluent — against our own published standard. Not a Level, not a regulated qualification.
The standard we mark against
Four bands, published
A Speaking Confidence assessment returns one of four bands — there is no pass or fail. The descriptors below are the standard, marked by a person who listens to the whole recording. Accent is not assessed; whether a listener understands you is. A certificate is valid for two years from the assessment date.
Developing
Communicates on familiar topics, but with frequent pauses and repetition; a listener has to work to follow.
Competent
Gets the message across on everyday and work topics; some hesitation, but keeps going and a listener follows without effort.
Confident
Speaks at a natural pace on most topics, handles an unexpected question without losing the thread, and adjusts tone to the situation.
Fluent
Speaks easily and precisely, including under pressure; manages disagreement, complaint and negotiation, and shifts register naturally.
